Scottish Election 2016

I see the SNP have been found to be breaking yet another of their pledges to the Scottish Electorate.

Remember the promises of closing the attainment gap, smaller class sizes, etc, etc, etc. Well apparently the number of specialist support teachers in Scotland has hit a 10 year low, with a reduction in the numbers of teachers able to help students that need assisted support reducing in the last 5 years alone by an eye watering 36% in the Western Isles, 33% in Aberdeen, 26% in Edinburgh, 25% in West Lothian and 21% in Glasgow. Still I suppose it helps the SNP to keep the populace of Scotland uneducated and incapable of reading these terrible stories.

Oh and in other news - 88% of Scottish nurses believe that the NHS in Scotland cannot cope with demand anymore, with 90% of respondents claiming their workload has gotten heavier and 75% of respondents saying that NHS finances have gotten worse despite staff shortages right across the board. Still never mind. Tommy Sheppard, leading candidate to become deputy leader of the SNP, believes that old people dying is a good thing, that will help the Nationalist cause.

Best adopt the Tories successful tactics in England then.

It ended on sept 14th 2014.

You supported a false prospectus which was rejected by over two million Scottish voters.

The SNP have a bloc seethe which has carried them in the general election and the subsequent Scottish one. But interest is waning and people know that what they proposed was a lie.

Sadly for the nationalist cause they have yet to sit down and look at why they failed. Until they do that and until they can come up with anything credible then none of us in here will ever be subjected to another independence referendum.

One thing is for certain. The present SNP leadership have absolutely no intention of holding another and 2011-2016 was the last majority government we will ever see at Holyrood anyway. This will be a difficult parliament for Sturgeon and co. Its started badly already, but policy matters will be tough. They WILL piss off sections of their own support from now on. Enthusiasm will wane. Maximum nat was 2015 and that was down to the bloc seethe at the referendum result. They'll never be near that level of support again. They've already shipped about 400,000 voters in 12 months and lost their majority at Holyrood.

Bump - partly for a little gloat and partly to say how unpredictable politics is "A week's is like my willy - pretty long" etc.........

To reinforce the above point I'll ask a question - Do you think Cameron would have called the EuroRef if he thought he was going to lose?

At the moment it seems like another Independence referendum before the UK (England & Wales) pull out of the EU is the most probable option and that Scotland will be able to transfer smoothly into the EU as a separate nation.

How will IndyRef 2 go - like they say it's too early to speculate.............
