This has, of course, been said before and we managed to achieve it.
As was pointed out to me in the pub after Sunday's game, it's been a great year in terms of league placings and some results, I can't argue with that. I do feel that there is a lack of strength in depth that bites us in the jacksey every now and then and it is more frequent as this season progresses because the failed signings and early departures have taken their toll. Poor player selection, I'm afraid, and even with the "best man manager" in the league you can only get so much out of less-talented players. We are also badly let down by some proven good players who just can't seem to deliver very often these days.
If we had signed half the number of new players this season and increased the quality of recruiting we would be weathering this period.
