This thread is 8 years old and nothing has changed.  Still  mainly a self policing system and people are dying.  I've had both eyes operated on within the last 3 months as an eye test detected that a tear had developed that required surgery.  So no driving for six weeks after each op and improved eyesight for the immediate future.  The government are complicit by standing idely by while families mourn the needless death of loved ones.
