    9. St.Mirren For Sale

The majority shareholding in the club was up for sale for 7 years! Eventually the shareholding was purchased by Gordon Scott and SMiSA in July 2016 with almost 1300 supporters contributing to the successful bid.

This forum is now really just an archive of some of the threads that took place in that 7 year period.  ps; Anyone mentions the Argies they get banned.

    • Personally, my view would be to fill in the corner between west and family stand and move W7 lads to the corner to link the atmosphere between the two but if this is the right time who knows, maybe a couple of virtually sold out seasons would be required to make the case for the financial outlay, unless of course we could get sponsorship to do it.
    • I think any talk of adding new awzy seats needs to be tempered by the cost v payback The original build came in at £1000 per seat and  being realistic any new seats will cost more and be used maybe 9-10 times a season at the very most so the payback is several years If we can afford to expand, any new seats need to be in the west or east stands or alongside them and the investment would be based on 8000  season tickets as a viable target I know we've come a long way with attendances, but incremental gains get harder to come by as you keep going up My belief is that the only way to ensure a realistic base for top 6 and euro contentiion every year is to compete with United and others on crowd size, so the time will come for a decision on capacity
